Blueberry Honey Butter

Blueberry Honey Butter

If there are four things I am in abundance of, they are homemade bread, blueberries, butter, and honey! With that in mind, I wanted to share one of my new favorite things I love to eat at home: Blueberry Honey Butter! This spread is perfect for a breakfast or snack and an addition to your spring celebrations!

Blueberry Honey Butter

Even though the days are still cold, you've probably noticed that they are getting longer as the sun rises a little earlier above the trees and waits a little longer each day to set behind them. Spring will be here before we know it. With Spring comes baby showers, birthdays, and Easter parties on the way soon, and Blueberry Honey Butter is an excellent addition to any party!

Make some homemade bread & rolls, add this yummy butter, and have a successful party snack. Make some for yourself to use on biscuits, waffles, and pancakes. Even better, this is one of the simplest and easiest spreads to make! So, let's get started by gathering just two ingredients.

Great Spring Time Gift

If you want a quick gift, the blueberry honey butter recipe can be easily made into double and triple batches. Place the butter in a small decorative jar, and it's a ready handmade gift! Add it to a basket with a cute ribbon and handmade wooden spreader.

How to Store:

Butter is stable enough to be kept on the counter for a couple of days; this will also keep it nice and soft. Please place it in a jar or any airtight container to keep it in the refrigerator for up to 10 days. It would help keep it at room temperature for a bit to make it spreadable.

Butter freezes well for several months. I will batch out a lot of butter at one time and then freeze it. You can also freeze store-bought stick butter and pull them out when needed.

There will be a printable recipe at the end of the blog. Be sure to add this recipe to your recipe Pinterest board, too!

  • Blueberries: Fresh or frozen
    • You can use blueberries/blueberry sauce in a can, but it will be less flavorful than adding fresh blueberries.
  • One stick of salted butter:
    • You are going to want a little salt in this butter spread. If you only have unsalted butter on hand, add a 1/8 teaspoon of salt to your taste.
  • One Tablespoon of local honey. Of course, local honey is my favorite, but any honey will do!

Ingredients for Blueberry Honey Butter

Small batches:

  • Place butter in a small bowl and mix/whip with a fork.
  • Butter in a small bowlWhipped butter
  • Now add blueberries and honey in the small bowl and mix with a fork, then you can use the wooden spreader to whip it up. Scrape down the sides of the bowl with the spreader and beat again until perfectly light and fluffy.
  • Mixing blueberries into butterMixing butter, honey, and blueberries together
  • I like to keep my smaller batches in the bowl I made it in. It is more convenient.
  • Blueberry honey butter in a bowl

Larger batches:

  • If making larger batches, use a mixing bowl; beat with an electric mixer until combined and smooth. I only recommend using an electric mixture if making larger batches because a lot of butter is wasted in this method. Scrape down the sides of the bowl with a wooden spatula and beat again until perfectly light and fluffy.
  • Spoon into 4-ounce glass jars for gifts or an airtight container for storing in the refrigerator or freezer.
